I wrote “Waving for Freedom” in honor of Flag Day, June 14th—a day to reflect not just on what the flag symbolizes, but on what it should stand for: justice, equality, and a promise to all. This song is a tribute to every American who’s carried that promise forward, from Selma to Normandy, from Valley Forge to today’s peaceful marches for change.

I’ll be honest—this one took me three times longer to write than most songs. I wanted every note and every word to mean something real to anyone who listens. By the time I finally put this song to bed and into the can for release, it had taken the breath out of me. I poured everything I had into it, and I hope you can feel that in the music—the emotion, the weight, the love, the fight.
