The Story Behind Us

We Are the Blue Wave Revival Band

And This is Our Story

Blue Wave Revival started as a passion project, driven by a group of dedicated Democrats and music enthusiasts who wanted to make discovering new music both easy and enjoyable. Over time, it’s grown into a vibrant global community of music lovers. Recently, we were honored to collaborate with the Harris Campaign to create an uplifting anthem-style song for Kamala Harris’s events. Our goal was to deliver a powerful message.

While I may not be BeyoncĂ©, we poured our hearts into this project, striving for something elegant and impactful.

This is the result of our efforts, and we hope it resonates with you as much as it does with us.

đŸŽ¶ Meet the Blue Wave Revival Band

Every member of this 12-piece powerhouse is a proud U.S. military veteran—united now by music, truth, and a mission to move hearts and wake up the nation.

đŸŽ€ Rick Gaspa – Songwriter / Band Founder
100% disabled Vietnam-era Army veteran. Rick writes, produces, and leads every performance with passion, purpose, and unapologetic progressive fire.

đŸŽ™ïžWe’re excited to welcome Liam Cathal McKenna as our new lead singer. With a soaring soprano tone and flawless control of the high notes, Liam brings both power and emotion to every song. An Army veteran and proud progressive Democrat, his heartfelt performances often reveal a rich Irish lilt that adds depth, soul, and undeniable appeal to the music.

🎾 Andy “Six Strings” Colson – Lead Guitar
Marine Corps vet whose solos roar like freedom. A blues-fueled firebrand who speaks louder with six strings than most do with six minutes on a mic.

đŸŽč Tanya “Ivory Thunder” Brooks – Keyboards / Synth
Army vet and musical architect. Tanya builds sonic landscapes that elevate every song with elegance, urgency, and R&B soul.

đŸ„ Marcus “Boom Boom” Daniels – Drums / Percussion
Navy veteran and heartbeat of the band. Marcus blends protest energy with gospel rhythm to drive our message into the streets.

đŸŽ· DeShawn “Blowback” Hayes – Saxophone
Air Force vet whose sax cuts through the noise like truth through propaganda. A jazz rebel with revolutionary tone.

đŸŽș Rico “The Brass General” Martinez – Trumpet
National Guard veteran and Latin jazz leader. Rico’s trumpet is our wake-up call—bold, bright, and impossible to ignore.

đŸŽ» Kimberly “Strings Attached” Cho – Violin / Viola
Former Army medic who heals with melody. Her strings cry, soar, and sing the soul of every ballad and protest anthem.

đŸŽŒ Pam “Harmony Queen” Langston – Vocals / Arrangement
Coast Guard vet with gospel roots. Pam’s rich harmonies lift our message and wrap every lyric in strength and grace.

đŸŽ€ Ali “Soulshaker” Freeman – Vocals / Spoken Word
Navy corpsman with a poet’s rage. Ali’s voice—spoken or sung—shakes the system and lifts the crowd.

đŸȘ• Bobby “Delta Dawg” Jenkins – Banjo / Acoustic Guitar
Army Ranger veteran with deep Southern roots. Bobby fuses bluegrass, folk, and fire into every pluck and pick.

đŸŽ›ïž Darren “Wired for Sound” Fletcher – Bass / Electronic Effects
Air Force sound tech turned groove master. Darren’s deep bass and synth textures hold down the truth—and the funk.

📯 Carla “Fanfare” Ruiz – Trombone / Flugelhorn
Marines vet with symphonic brass style. Carla rounds out our horns with depth, drama, and badass brass attitude.

What Is Progressive Music

What Is Progressive Music

Progressive music isn’t just a sound — it’s a stance. It’s music that refuses to sit quietly in the background while the world burns. Progressive music asks questions, challenges power, and gives voice to people who are too often ignored or pushed aside. It’s rooted in empathy, justice, and truth-telling, whether that comes wrapped in folk, rock, soul, Americana, hip-hop, or something that doesn’t even fit a clean genre label. At its core, progressive music is about moving society forward — calling out injustice, defending democracy, standing up for workers, veterans, women, LGBTQ+ communities, immigrants, and anyone told to “know their place.”

Historically, progressive music has always shown up when it’s needed most — during labor movements, civil rights struggles, anti-war protests, and moments when silence would’ve been easier but wrong. It’s not about perfection or polish; it’s about honesty and courage. Progressive music doesn’t pretend everything is fine — it says we can do better, and then dares people to believe it. That’s the tradition we’re proud to carry forward — songs with something to say, meant to be felt, shared, and acted on.

If that kind of music speaks to you, take a moment to explore what we’re building. There’s plenty more waiting for you once you step inside, and we’d love to have you along for the ride.

Home Studio in Las Vegas, NV

Home Studio in Las Vegas, NV

Creativity thrives in my home studio nestled in the heart of Las Vegas—a city known for its bright lights, bold spirit, and relentless energy. But step inside, and you’ll find a different kind of electricity. This is where passion meets purpose, where melodies are molded and messages are amplified. It’s a space filled with instruments, lyrics-in-progress, late-night breakthroughs, and the kind of raw, unfiltered truth that only music can deliver.

Every beat we produce here is rooted in justice, compassion, and community. Whether it's recording a new anthem for progress or mixing a track that speaks truth to power, this studio is our creative engine. Fueled by hope and a little desert magic, it’s where the heart of Blue Wave Revival truly lives.
